Deputy PM: Who am I to declare the state’s bankruptcy?|نائب رئيس الحكومة: من أنا لأعلن إفلاس الدولة؟ https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/063be4b0-1a26-4d6f-ab28-acdc3b5b7dd2 سأل نائب رئيس الحكومة سعادة الشامي نفسه واللبنانيين: «من أنا لأُعلِن إفلاس الدولة؟»، نافياً أن يكون الموقف الصادر عنه حول إفلاس الدولة ومصرف لبنان مقدّمةً لإعلان الإفلاس الرسمي. وقال الشامي في مقابلة صحفية، أمس، إنّه تمّ اجتزاء حديثه من سياقه حول مساهمة الدولة ومصرف لبنان في تحمّل الخسائر المالية، مبدياً خشيته من أن يكون التحريف قد تمّ عن سوء نيّة. وكان الشامي قد صرّح في مقابلة مع قناة «الجديد»، الأحد، إنّه «للأسف الدولة مفلسة وكذلك مصرف لبنان»، ما أثار عاصفةً من ردود الفعل داخل لبنان وخارجه. وقد سارع رئيس الحكومة نجيب ميقاتي إلى تطويق كلام نائبه موضحاً أنّ الكلام مجتزأ «يقصد به السيولة وليس الملاءة». Deputy Prime Minister Saade Chami asked himself and the Lebanese people: “Who am I to declare the state’s bankruptcy?,” denying that his statement about the central bank and the state’s bankruptcy will be followed by an official declaration of bankruptcy. In an interview yesterday, Chami said that his words about the state and BDL bearing financial losses were taken out of context, and that he fears that this misrepresentation was done in bad faith. The Deputy PM had stated, in an interview with Al Jadeed on Sunday: “Unfortunately the state and the central bank are bankrupt,” sparking a wave of reactions in Lebanon and abroad.
