Part-time professors at the Lebanese University set up tents at the gates of the Grand Serail in Zokak el Blat on Monday, after weeks of sporadic strikes. They announced an open strike to demand the approval of all university matters, joining the full-time professors, who are already on strike. Protesters said that the part-timers’ file has been with the Cabinet’s General Secretariat for weeks, but is being delayed as ruling class parties are fighting over who to appoint as faculty deans.
