His students had gathered to bid him farewell after he was assassinated by an Israeli drone on Sunday evening. Education Minister Rima Karami offered her condolences to the family, school, colleagues and students of Shweikh. The National Assembly of Public-Sector Workers also condemned the assassination. Hezbollah mourned Shweikh as a martyr on the road to Jerusalem and called on the public to attend his funeral.
