https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/135280ff-145f-4d73-9b28-7653da365c8f عاد منسوب المياه للانخفاض في سدّ المسيلحة بعد محاولات رفعه اصطناعياً قبيل الانتخابات النيابيّة. وقد دخلت قطعان من الماشية إلى المساحات التي جفّت من السدّ، في خرق للمبادئ الصحية الخاصة بالسدود وأماكن تجميع المياه، نظراً لما يمكن أن تخلّفه هذه القطعان من تلوّث للمياه والأرض. ونشر الخبير الهيدروجيولوجي، سمير زعاطيطي، تقديرات مختّصين تشير إلى أنّ المنسوب المتبقّي في المسيلحة يُقدَّر بحوالي 2.6 مليون متر مكعّب، ما يعني أنّ 3.4 مليون متر مكعّب من المياه قد تسرّبت عبر البواليع والفراغات خلال الشهر الأخير. وكانت وزارة الطاقة والمياه قد اعترفت في أيار الماضي، أنها عمدت إلى إقفال كل مسارب السدّ لثلاثة أسابيع، في مؤشر إلى استخدام هذا الإجراء خلال الانتخابات النيابية لدعم حملة جبران باسيل في قضاء البترون. وقد أدّى هذا الإجراء إلى تجفيف نهر الجوز المحاذي على طول 4 كيلومترات، بحسب ما يؤكد الناشط البيئي بول أبي راشد. This means that 3.4 million cubic meters of water have seeped into sinkholes and porous grounds during the last month. Last May, the Ministry of Energy and Water admitted that it had closed all dam channels for three weeks, in a procedure used during the parliamentary elections that appeared to support Gebran Bassil's campaign in Batroun district.
