The Danniyeh forest in flames | غابات الضنيّة تحترق https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/190c28e2-cb25-47ac-9840-c9a49fb8eec7 لا تزال طوّافات الجيش اللبناني وفرق الدفاع المدني تحاول السيطرة على الحريق الذي اندلع أمس في غابات بطرماز في الضنيّة، وهي إحدى أكبر مساحات الصنوبر في الشرق الأوسط، ولكن من دون جدوى حتّى الساعة. وفي حديثٍ مع «ميغافون»، أشار وزير البيئة في حكومة تصريف الأعمال ناصر ياسين إلى أنَّ الضباب يصعّب المهمّة على طوّافات الجيش، وأنَّ الدفاع المدني غير مجهّز كليّاً بالمعدّات اللازمة في ظل الأزمة المالية والإدارية واللوجستية. ولفت ياسين بأنَّ الحريق قد يكون مفتعلاً، بانتظار ما سيخلص إليه التحقيق. يذكر أنَّ وزارة الدفاع، كانت قد عرضت طائرات مقاتلة ومروحيّات للبيع كقطع غيار، بهدف تمويل شراء طائرة مخصّصة لإخماد الحرائق، إلّا أنَّها لم تستطع حتّى الآن تنفيذ هذا المشروع، بالرغم من تزايد موجات الحرائق منذ 2019. Despite continuing attempts, army and Civil Defense helicopters are struggling to contain the fire which broke out yesterday in the Btormaz forests of Danniyeh; one of the largest expanses of pine trees in the Middle East. Fog is obstructing the army helicopters’ firefighting efforts, said caretaker Environment Minister Nasser Yassin to Megaphone, adding that civil defense teams were also partially unequipped amid financial, operational, and logistical crises. Yassin pointed out that the fire might have been started intentionally, claiming he awaits further investigation. On the other hand, the Defense Ministry had previously offered up for sale fighter jets and helicopters as spare parts, in order to fund the acquisition of a new specialized firefighting aircraft.
