Several Kurdish cities revolted against the Iranian regime, following the killing of Mahsa Amini, an Iranian Kurd, who was arrested and tortured by the morality police for not wearing a "proper hijab." Protestors chanted "Down with the Iranian occupation," and were met with live ammunition and more repression. The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights reported that two protestors were killed, and another 250 arrested.
