Aleppo clashes: Government forces enter Sheikh Maqsoud Syrian internal security forces announced today that they have entered the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo after five days of clashes with the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Syrian authorities accused SDF fighters of fortifying Yassin Hospital in the neighborhood and turning it into a military operations center. The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted a military source saying that the fighters had also booby-trapped vehicles and buildings throughout the area. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said clashes in Aleppo’s al-Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods have killed 37 people, including seven women and five children, and left 115 injured, with tens of thousands displaced.
