Global Sumud Flotilla: sailing on despite the assault At a press conference, the Global Sumud Flotilla affirmed on Tuesday that it will keep sailing toward #Gaza to break the Israeli blockade, despite its main vessel being struck by a drone overnight. Brazilian activist Thiago Ávila, one of the Flotilla’s coordinators, said this was the 38th ship attacked while attempting to break the Gaza blockade over the past 17 years, accusing Israel of carrying out the strike. Ávila added that the attack has encouraged thousands more activists to join the Flotilla, rather than deter them from supporting the Palestinian people.
