"Beirut Madinati" Returns to the Municipal Arena After a nine-year hiatus, municipal elections are set to return to #Beirut, along with the comeback of the "Beirut Madinati" coalition. The group launched its electoral program on Friday at the “Arous al-Bahr” café in Manara. Lawyer Jihane Rizk, along with urban planner Soha Mneimneh and engineer Fadi Darwish, presented the initiative before an audience of parliamentarians, civil society activists, and Beirut residents. The coalition outlined the consequences of years of neglect and political patronage under successive municipal councils. It unveiled its electoral platform, presenting a detailed plan for the first year alongside a long-term strategic vision. Lebanon’s municipal elections begin tomorrow, Sunday, with Beirut scheduled to vote on May 18.
