Smuggling king doesn't address the “mentally ill”|«عراب المهربين وليد البعريني لايخاطب «مريضين عقليا https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/2fb812bd-3489-42a2-a93d-4690269a3b64 رفض النائب وليد البعريني، المرتبط بشبكات التهريب في عكّار، الاستماع إلى مداخلة الإعلامي ابراهيم فتفت خلال مقابلة إذاعية، أمس الأوّل الخميس، بعدما كان فتفت قد اتّهم البعريني بالعمل في التهريب منذ أسلافه. وشنّ البعريني حملة قدح وذمّ ضدّ فتفت، واصفاً إيّاه بـ«المنحط» و«السافل». غير أن اللافت هو اعتماد نائب في البرلمان مصطلح «مريض عقلياً» من باب الإِعابة والمَذَمّة، مهمّشاً بذلك فئةً من المجتمع هُمّشَت أصلاً بسبب إهمال الدولة للمسألة النفسية. يُذكَر أنّ البعريني، الذي انزعج من عبارة «جدّ جدّه بيتعاطى بالتهريب»، هو نجل النائب السابق وجيه البعريني الذي استفاد لعقود من قربه من النظام السوري للسيطرة على طرقات التهريب العكارية بين لبنان وسوريا. كما كشفت صوَر عدّة قربه من علي الفرج، صاحب الخزّان الذي انفجر في بلدة التليل فجر الأحد الفائت. MP Walid Baarini, who is linked to a smuggling network in Akkar, refused to hear an intervention by reporter Ibrahim Fatfat during a radio interview Thursday evening, after Fatfat accused the MP of coming from a long line of smugglers. Baarini went on to insult and humiliate Fatfat, calling him a “lowlife” and “bastard.” While not unusual, it’s noteworthy that a member of Parliament used the term “mentally ill” derogatorily, marginalizing a group in society that is already marginalized due to the state’s neglect of psychological issues. Baarini, who was upset by the sentence “his great-grandfather was a smuggler,” is the son of former MP Wajih Baarini who benefited for decades from his closeness to the Syrian regime to control smuggling routes in Akkar between Lebanon and Syria.
