Speaking at the mass funeral for the victims, Yazigi affirmed that Christians are a part of Syria’s national, cultural and social fabric, and stressed that the bombing is a crime “against every Syrian.” Today, funeral services were held for nine victims at the Holy Cross Church in the al-Qassaa neighborhood of Damascus. A mass funeral also took place in Suwayda, and the rest of the victims were buried in their hometowns and villages. Ansar al-Sunna claimed responsibility for the massacre, which killed 25 people and injured 63 others.
