The work was completed in November 2020. However, the project first saw the light in late 2018, when the Megaphone team felt the need to move the discussion about the economic crisis beyond the closed circles of experts, and to open it up for public discussion. This decision was taken even before the first signs of collapse started appearing. The documentary looks at Lebanon's economy from a political lens and targets young audiences who may not be familiar with the history and structure of the current economic system. It is an attempt to deconstruct the black box of a non-productive, clientelistic, rentier-based system, which local authorities have exploited in service of their interests, the banking system, and rentier sectors. Megaphone's goal is to provide the viewer with a clearer picture of the economic interests and motivations of different players, in order to hold them to account, and reimagine an alternative economy that serves the public interests of the people. 2020 Megaphone | Content is available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share-Alike License 4.0 International License (CC BY 2.0) [Correction: at 20:17, the date mentioned should be 04/08/2020, and not 15/10/2020] Bibliography Baroudi, S.
