https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/400294ac-5aa1-42c1-a2b3-d19b978c1c09 «هل الزوج بيحقّله يضرب مرتو؟»، تسأل مقدّمة البرامج رابعة الزيات ضمن الشريط الترويجي لحلقتها المقبلة من برنامج «فوق 18» على قناة «الجديد». والقناة التي أعجِبَت بتساؤل رابعة، جعلت من هذا السؤال تغريدةً للترويج للحلقة نفسها، مضيفةً إليه «وهل بتوافقوا عَ مَتَل ضرب الحبيب زبيب؟». هذا التساؤل الذي يتجاهل الناجيات والضحايا حول العالم ليحوّل العنف ضدّ النساء إلى وجهة نظر يتنافس حولها مشتركون يُفتَح لهم الهواء ليروّجوا للعنف، يتزامن مع اليوم العالمي لمناهضة العنف ضد المرأة الذي يحييه كوكب الأرض (باستثناء رابعة و«الجديد») غداً. فـ«هل التلفزيون بيحقّله يروّج للعنف ضدّ النساء؟». “Does the husband have the right to beat his wife?” asks presenter Rabia Al-Zayyat in the promo for the next episode of her show “Over 18” on Al-Jadeed. The channel was so enamored with Rabia's question that it also tweeted it to promote the episode, adding “Do you agree with the Lebanese saying that beating the lover is as sweet as raisins?” The question ignores victims and survivors around the world, and turns violence against women into a mere viewpoint that participants argue over an open mic. The episode coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women that the whole planet celebrates tomorrow (with the exception of Rabia and Al-Jadeed).
