On the second day of the schoolgirls' uprising, the students tore down, burned and destroyed photos of Khomeini and Khamenei from their textbooks and in their classrooms. The schoolgirls thwarted authorities’ attempts to silence their uprising, kicking out a representative of the Basij forces, affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the Supreme Leader, who had come to “guide” students in one of Tehran’s schools.
