Iranian women’s protests against the morality police have intensified, after they tortured 22-year-old Mahsa Amini to death for wearing the hijab wrong. The Iranian police quashed protests with live bullets on Saturday, prompting more widespread protests and “Death to the dictator” chants, in reference to Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran. The police had arrested Amini last Tuesday and hospitalized her the next day after she lost consciousness as a result of the beating.
