Beirut Tuqawem (Beirut resists) launched its campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections on Sunday, from the capital's seaside corniche. Beirut Tuqawem comprises members of revolutionary groups that opposed the regime at several political milestones, including most recently the October 17. The campaign identified the broad headlines of the confrontation: Resistance to all the ruling parties from Hezbollah to the Lebanese Forces, resistance to the rule of banks, and in particular resistance to those who blew up the city. Beirut Tuqawem will adopt a participatory model in its run for the elections.
