https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/5c7d60cf-ee18-445a-9d74-455689690d82 تتحضّر السلطات القبرصيّة، اليوم الثلاثاء، لوصول بقعة نفطيّة إلى شواطئها، مصدرها تسرّب نفطيّ في مدينة بانياس على الساحل السوريّ. وقد تصل البقعة إلى لبنان في حال تغيُّر مجرى الرياح، علماً أنَّ الشواطئ اللبنانيّة لا تزال تعاني من آثار تسرّب النفط الإسرائيلي في شباط الفائت. وكانت البقعة النفطية قد رُصِدت للمرّة الأولى في 25 آب الفائت على شاطئ جبلة في بانياس. وفي حين لا تزال وزارة الكهرباء السوريّة «تحقّق» في أسباب التسرّب، ردّ نقيب عمال الكهرباء في نقابة عمال طرطوس داوود درويش التسرّب إلى «اهتراءٍ وتصدّع» في أحد خزانات محطّة إنتاج الكهرباء في بانياس، والذي كان يحتوي 15 ألف طناً من الوقود. يُذكَر أنَّ ميناء بانياس يستقبل، منذ 2019، بواخر النفط التي توردها إيران إلى نظام الأسد تزامناً مع تفاقم أزمة المحروقات في مناطق سيطرته، ممّا رفع من نسبة التلوّث في المنطقة بسبب عمليّات تنظيف خزّانات ناقلات النفط الإيرانية. ومن المرجّح أن ترسو باخرة المازوت الإيرانيّة القادمة إلى لبنان في مرفأ بانياس بدلاً من مرفأ بيروت، لتُفرّغ حمولتها وتُنقل إلى الأراضي اللبنانيّة برّاً. Cypriot authorities are preparing for an oil spill that is expected to reach their beaches on Tuesday. The spill originated from a fuel leak in the Syrian coastal city of Baniyas, and it could reach Lebanon if the wind direction changes, knowing that Lebanese beaches are still suffering from an Israeli oil spill last February. The oil spill was first spotted on August 25, on the Jableh beach in Baniyas. While the Syrian Electricity Ministry is still “investigating” what caused the spill, the head of the Electricity Workers Syndicate at Tartous Workers Union, Dawoud Darwish, blamed cracks in one of the tanks at the Baniyas Thermal Power Plant, which contains 15,000 tons of fuel. Since 2019, the Baniyas port has been receiving fuel ships sent by Iran to the Assad regime, as the fuel crisis worsened in the areas under the regime’s control. This led to an increase in pollution in the region because of the need to clean Iranian fuel tankers.
