After being elected Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri returned to his residence in Ain al-Tineh, where supporters and members of the parliamentary guard in their official uniforms greeted him chanting: "Our soul and our blood, we will sacrifice for you, Nabih." Among the celebrants was MP Ali Hassan Khalil, who has an arrest warrant issued in his name for the Beirut port explosion. The parliamentary guards operate like a militia under Berri's orders.
