Lebanese Forces justify their attacks: Self-defense | القوّات تبرّر اعتداءاتها: دفاعٌ عن النفس https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/5e3e5f7b-0506-4959-a639-84662354baf3 دافع رئيس حزب القوّات اللبنانيّة، أمس الخميس، عن سلوك عناصره في ذكرى 4 آب. فتطرّق في مؤتمر صحفي إلى حادثة المرفأ حيث انتشرت صورة لأحد الأشخاص مدمّىً بعد تعرّضه للضرب من قبل قوّاتيين، وحادثة الجمّيزة حيث انهال قوّاتيّون بالضرب المُبرِح والسكاكين على متظاهرين شيوعيّين. في الحادثة الأولى، روى جعجع أنّ الشخص المعتدى عليه هو عضو في الحزب السوري القومي الاجتماعي، وقد بادر هو بالاعتداء على أحد الطلاب القوّاتيّين الذين كانوا عائدين من إحياء مصلحة الطلاب لذكرى 4 آب. أمّا بخصوص الجمّيزة، فوضع جعجع هجوم القوّاتيّين على الشيوعيّين في خانة الدفاع عن النفس بعدما قام بعض الشيوعيّين برمي الحجارة والمولوتوف على مركز القوّات بالجمّيزة. وبعدما وصف جعجع الحزب الشيوعي بحزب «مصّاصي الدماء» الذي يريد هدم كلّ شيء، تمنّى الشفاء للجرحى. Head of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea defended his supporters’ behavior during the August 4 commemoration. In a press conference held on Thursday, he mentioned the photo of a bloodied man who had been beaten by LF supporters, and the Gemmayze incident, where LF supporters brutally assaulted communist protesters. Regarding the first incident, Geagea said that the man who was beaten is a member of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, and he had assaulted an LF student as he was returning from the August 4 commemoration organized by LF Students. Geagea then justified the LF’s assault on communists in Gemmayze by saying it was self-defense, after some communists had thrown stones and molotov cocktails on the LF headquarters in Gemmayze.
