https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/69ca5991-e55d-4771-99e0-369b626a12fe توفي تسعة ركّاب على الأقل، بينهم طفلة تبلغ من العمر سنتين، ونقل ثمانية ركّاب آخرين بوضع حرج إلى المستشفيات بعدما أغرق الجيش في الساعة العاشرة من مساء السبت قاربًا في طرابلس قبالة شاطئ القلمون، كان على متنه 60 شخصًا هاربين من البلاد. وتستمرّ عملية الإنقاذ والبحث عن ناجين بعد أن تمّ إجلاء 45 ناجيًا، فيما لا يزال مصير الركاب الآخرين مجهولًا. تبرّأت قيادة الجيش من الجريمة في بيانٍ ذكرت فيه أن القارب «تعرّض للغرق أثناء محاولة تهريبهم بطريقة غير شرعية (...) نتيجة تسرّب المياه بسبب ارتفاع الموج وحمولة المركب الزائدة". إلّا أن شهادات الناجين تكذّب هذه الرواية، فقد صرّح أحدهم أن طرّاد الجيش اصطدم بمركبهم مرّتين: «كسر اليخت فينا منشان يغرّقنا، وصار يقلّنا: بدي أقبركن،» فيما أكّد آخرون أن طرّاد الجيش تعمّد الإصطدام بالقارب. وقد أدّت هذه الرواية إلى توتير الأوضاع بين الجيش وسكان بعض الأحياء في المدينة. ليست المرّة الأولى التي تشهد فيها طرابلس غرق قارب ينقل مهاجرين. ففي أيلول 2020 ضاع قارب على متنه 45 راكبًا في عرض البحر طوال 8 أيام، ما أدى إلى غرق بعض ركّابه، من بينهم أطفال. وتضاعف في السنتين الماضيتين عدد القوارب التي تنقل ركاباً في رحلات غير نظامية تحت إشراف مهرّين يتقاضون مبالغ هائلة مقابل تأمين رحلاتٍ غير آمنة لسكّان المدينة الساعين للهروب من الأوضاع الكارثية ولو بأي ثمن. At least nine people died, including a two-year-old girl, and eight were transported to hospitals in critical condition after the army drowned a boat carrying 60 passengers who were fleeing the country. Search and rescue operations continue off the coast of Tripoli, facing the Qalamoun beach, with 45 survivors rescued as others remain missing. Army command issued a statement claiming “the boat had drowned while attempting to illegally smuggle passengers (...) after it flooded due to high waves and passenger overloading.” Survivor accounts contradict this story. One distressed survivor told cameras that an army cruiser had crashed into them twice: “He veered into our boat trying to drown us. “I want to bury you,” he said.” Other survivors also confirmed this version which has heightened tensions between Tripoli’s residents and the army. “Death boats” are not new to Tripoli. In September 2020, a boat carrying 45 passengers got stranded at sea for days, leading to the death of several passengers, including children.
