They begin with society's justifications, discrediting victims, offering platforms to patriarchal voices, failing to prosecute criminals, and lightening their sentences. This is how society facilitates the killing of women in Lebanon. ستّ نساء وُجدن مقتولات في الأسبوع الأخير. جرائم تضاف إلى عشرات الجرائم التي سبقتها، وإلى عشرات الجرائم التي ستليها، جرائم تتحضّر في الخفاء، خلف الجدران، ينفّذها رجال كلّ يومٍ ضد النساء، ففي لبنان، الجرائم بحقّ النساء سهلة. Six women were found murdered last week. Three crimes added to the dozens that preceded them and to the dozens that will follow. Crimes that men commit in secret every day behind closed doors.
