Kerr lost his temper when mentioning the successive shootings that take place in the United States and claim hundreds of lives: particularly those of children and people of color. He accused the American senate and its Republican party members of benefiting from the current gun ownership laws which they refuse to reform. Kerr, who was born in Lebanon, was once witness to another crime: that of the assassination of his own father, former president of the American University of Beirut, Malcolm Kerr.
