https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/863e44ce-85d2-4d02-b77d-0b9b92b51649 محاولتا اعتذار صدرتا حتّى الساعة عن الوزير السابق وئام وهاب بعد مقابلته التلفزيونيّة صباح الأحد، والتي أساء فيها للنساء الروسيّات والأوكرانيّات. صدر «التوضيح» الأوّل عن حزب التوحيد العربي الذي يرأسه وهاب، والذي اعتبر أنّ «ما قصده رئيس الحزب في الموضوع الروسي والأوكراني هو الجمال الروسي والأوكراني وليس أي شيء آخر، فنحن من جهتنا نُقدّر نضال الروسيات عبر التاريخ». البيان الحزبي الذي لم يقدّم اعتذاراً صريحاً، تلته تغريدة لوهاب نفسه أعاد التأكيد فيها على جمال النساء الروسيّات، وأنّ «المرأة الروسية مناضلة ومقاتلة ومحترمة دون شك وتحظى بإعجابي»، قبل أن ينتقل للإشادة بالتدخّل الروسي في سوريا. وكان وهاب قد روى خلال مقابلته مع الإعلاميّة سمر أبو خليل أنّه أبلغ رئيس الجمهوريّة ضرورة تحديد دور البلد الاقتصاديّ، وإن كان التوجّه نحو إعلانه بلداً للدعارة فلا بدّ من إحضار نساء روسيّات وأوكرانيّات. فما كان من ميشال عون إلا أن ضحك. وما كان من الإعلاميّة إلا أن صمتت. Two apology attempts have been issued so far by Former Minister Wiam Wahhab following his TV interview on Sunday morning, in which he insulted Russian and Ukrainian women. The first “clarification” was issued by the Arab Unitarian Party, which is headed by Wahhab, that stated “what the party’s president meant regarding the Russian and Ukrainian matter was only to compliment Russian and Ukrainian beauty, nothing else. We appreciate the struggles of Russian women throughout history.” The party’s statement did not present an honest apology, and was followed by a tweet from Wahhab himself, in which he reiterated the beauty of Russian women, adding that “the Russian woman is a warrior and a fighter. She is undoubtedly respected and has my admiration,” before moving on to praise Russian intervention in Syria. During his TV interview with host Samar Abou Khalil, Wahhab told the story of a conversation he had with President Aoun, in which he insisted on the importance of defining the country’s economic role; if it was headed towards becoming a prostitution nation, then it was necessary to bring in Russian and Ukrainian women, which made Michel Aoun laugh.
