Hundreds of party members surrounded the town’s entrance with their cars and weapons, marching in front of residents in a military parade they named “The great terror.” The drill took place at the end of Amal’s training camp, and days before the annual commemoration of the assassination of Amal leader Daoud Daoud and his two companions. Although Amal officials stated that the drill was “to raise preparedness in the face of any Israeli aggression,” Amal’s enthusiasm to show off its “organized” armed side comes amid rising tensions from the fuel crisis, the latest of which was in Maghdouche.
