They also denounced government intervention in the oil refinery strikes that have gone on for weeks and have led to a 30% shortage of fuel, but whose overall results remain unclear. While French President Emmanuel Macron said the authorities are doing all they can to address the crisis, new labor sectors joined the strike today, including transport, education and industry. This led to severe disruptions in train and bus services, and several student clashes with the police near schools. Today's nationwide strike comes at the heels of the protest organized by left-wing parties in Paris last Sunday.
