The story of Ibrahim: A student arrested during exams This is the story of Ibrahim Mohammad Wazwaz, one of 67 students still detained in the West Bank, while the nationwide high school exams began this week. Ibrahim sits in an Israeli prison cell today, when he should have been sitting in his classroom. Since October 7, 358 students have been arrested in the West Bank, while the rest have struggled to study under conditions that made learning nearly impossible: from settler attacks, to arrests, or even lack of sleep and loss of concentration from air raid sirens. 52,000 Palestinian students registered for this year's exams, including 3,500 students in occupied Jerusalem who were unable to take the first exam "due to emergency measures imposed by the Israeli authorities,” according to Al Jazeera.
