The French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo responded to Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab, by attacking the external siege theory that the authorities are resorting to in order to justify their failure. The ambassador blamed the ruling political class for the deteriorating living conditions in Lebanon, but ignored the fact that her country's president, Emmanuel Macron visited Lebanon after the port explosion, attempting to keep that same ruling class afloat.
