Mohammad Rustom was released from the El Helou army barrack today after paying a LBP 5 million bail, while Abdel Rahman Zakaria remains detained, on account of an arrest warrant issued by the military court in a previous allegation against him. Rustom did not hesitate to once again speak up against the police state and the rule of militias and mafias, at the barracks' doors. He revealed that he was tortured in detention, stressing the Lebanese people’s right to a just state, the rule of law and basic rights. Rustom and Zakaria helped depositor Sali Hafiz retrieve her deposit from BLOM Bank last Wednesday, in order to secure treatment costs for her sister who suffers from cancer.
