The family of martyred Omar Tayba and a number of protesters staged a sit-in at the Tripoli Serail to mark the one-year commemoration of Tayba's assassination. The gate was set on fire, and security forces dispersed the protestors. The family accused the judiciary and the security services of not taking action against the perpetrators and sprayed slogans calling for justice for the people of Tripoli around the serail. Tayba was martyred on January 28, 2021, after the security forces attacked demonstrators in Tripoli. He was the third demonstrator to die by army bullets in Tripoli, after martyrs Ahmed Tawfiq and Fuad Al-Samman.
