https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/c210fffd-3d2e-4050-9e05-1559c4fd2b00 وصلت العاملة النيبالية ساجيتا لاما إلى بلدها، واحتضنت والدتها معتذرةً عن عدم إحضار أي هدية لها، بعد 10 أعوام من العبودية في لبنان الذي جاءت للعمل فيه وهي في سنّ الثامنة عشرة. خرجت لاما إلى الحرية في 25 آب الفائت، بعد يومين من إطلاق حملة «الحرية لساجيتا»، وبعدما كانت مُحتجزة في منزل مصفّف الشعر ريتشارد خوري وزوجته رنا جرمانوس، لمدّة مئة وعشرة أشهر. وإثر نشر فيديو عودة لاما، طالبت صفحة «ذيس إز ليبانون» القضاء اللبناني بمحاكمة آل الخوري، لا سيّما وأنّها لا تزال تدين للعاملة بمستحقّاتها الشهرية التي يساوي مجموعها 22,000$. كما أعلنت الصفحة عن وجود ثلاث حالات مشابهة لعاملات منزليات مُحتجزات لعقدٍ كامل. لم تحضر ساجيتا أي شيء إلى منزلها في النيبال، سوى صورة صريحة عن نظام الكفالة في لبنان. توضيح: وصلت ساجيتا إلى منزلها في 15 شباط، وقد نُشرَ الفيديو أمس الأربعاء. Nepalese worker Sajita Lama landed in her country, and hugged her mother, apologizing that she did not bring her anything back, after ten years of enslavement in Lebanon, where she came to work at 18 years old. Lama was freed on August 25, 2021, two days after the launching of the Freedom for Sajita campaign. She had been held inside the home of her employers, hairdresser Richard Khoury and his wife Rana Germanos, for over 110 months. Following the release of the video of Lama’s return, This Is Lebanon called on the Lebanese judiciary to prosecute the Khourys, especially since they still owe her $22,000 in monthly dues. The page also revealed three similar cases of domestic workers imprisoned inside homes for a decade. Sajita brought nothing back to her home in Nepal, except an honest depiction of Lebanon’s Kafala system.
