Some were arrested alive, while other bodies have been held since October 7, 2023. Official examinations revealed that “the occupation committed murder, field executions, and systematic torture against several of the detainees,” with some bodies showing clear signs of hanging. Due to the extreme mutilation of the bodies, the destruction of necessary examination equipment during the war, and Israel’s refusal to share information, #Gaza’s Ministry of Health had to arrange meetings with families of the missing, presenting them with photographs in an effort to identify their loved ones.
