Statewide Shutdown». وجاءت هذه التحرّكات بدعوة من قيادات عمالية ودينية، وذلك بعد أن اعتقلت الشرطة نحو 100 من رجال الدين خلال تظاهرة نُظّمت في أكبر مطارات الولاية، احتجاجاً على نقل المحتجزين لدى إدارة الهجرة. وكان نائب الرئيس الأميركي جي دي فانس قد زار مينيسوتا الخميس، محمّلاً السلطات المحلية مسؤولية تصاعد التوتر والفوضى في الولاية. ويأتي هذا التصعيد بعد توقيف أربعة طلاب تتراوح أعمارهم بين 5 و17 عاماً، إضافة إلى احتجاز طفلة تبلغ عامين ونقل طفل في الخامسة من عمره ووالده إلى مركز احتجاز في ولاية تكساس. وكانت الاحتجاجات قد بدأت في المدينة عقب مقتل رينيه غود على يد أحد عناصر إدارة الهجرة في السابع من الشهر الحالي. On Thursday, US Vice President J.D. Vance visited Minnesota and blamed local authorities for the chaos. Protests in the city erupted after Renee Good was killed by an ICE officer on January 7 and have since escalated, following the detention of four students aged 5 to 17, the holding of a two-year-old girl, and the transfer of a five-year-old boy and his father to a detention center in Texas.
