Italy’s streets against senate: We want our rights | الشارع الإيطالي يتحرّك ضدّ مجلس الشيوخ https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/caf3bddd-2674-4e73-912e-e63a7be00171 اكتسحت تظاهراتٌ شوارع إيطاليا، ليل أمس الجمعة، رفضاً لخطوة مجلس الشيوخ الأخيرة الرامية إلى ردّ مشروع قانون يجرّم الكراهية ضدّ النساء ومجتمع الميم والفئات المهمّشة. وقد رفع المتظاهرون شعارات تدعو للعلمنة، وتناهض الفاشية في السياسة، طالبين إقرار مشروع القانون الذي من شأنّه أن يوازي الكراهية ضدّ النساء وضدّ مجتمع الميم بجرائم العنصرية، وأن يطرح معالجة القضايا الجندرية والتوعية الجنسية في المناهج المدرسية. وكان مجلس الشيوخ الإيطالي قد أسقط مشروع القانون بمباركةٍ من الأحزاب اليمينية والمجموعات الكاثوليكيّة المتطرّفة، الخميس الفائت، علماً أنّ المجلس النيابي سبق ووافق عليه. يُذكر أن الفاتيكان بدوره قد تدخّل، في تمّوز الفائت، لعرقلة المشروع. Italy’s streets filled with demonstrators on Friday night, to protest the senate’s recent rejection of a bill to criminalize violence against women, the LGBT community and other marginalized groups. Protesters called for secularism, anti-fascim in politics and adopting the law, which would equate misogyny and homophobia with racist crimes, as well as introduce gender issues and sexual education in school curricula. The Italian senate rejected the bill last Thursday, with the support of right-wing parties and extremist Catholic groups, although the parliament had already approved it. The Vatican had also interfered last July to obstruct the bill.
