Sisi denies involvement in Gaza siege In a press conference today, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi denied any involvement by his regime in the siege of Gaza. On the contrary, he condemned the blockade and claimed that history will hold countries accountable for their positions on Gaza. El-Sisi attempted to distance his government from its complicity by pointing to Egypt’s leading role in sending aid to Gaza and insisted that it consistently tries to deliver humanitarian assistance, while blaming Israel for obstructing his efforts to halt the ongoing genocide.
