https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/d4b42c69-f704-426c-bcce-e2bed62f0255 هدأ خطاب وزير الاقتصاد أمين سلام الداعي لهدم أهراءات المرفأ، خلال مؤتمرٍ صحفي عقده اليوم الجمعة، عرض فيه كافّة جوانب الموضوع، مع الدراسات التي يوصي معظمها بهدمٍ جزئيٍّ فقط. كما رسم سلام خطّاً أحمرَ بين الهدم وسَير التحقيقات، مؤكّداً تواصله مع أهالي الضحايا، ومشترطاً اتّخاذ القرار فقط بعد صدور رأيٍ قضائيٍّ مختصّ يُجيز الهدم من عدمه. وإيضاحاً لسؤال الهدم علماً أنّ المساحة نفسها غير قابلة لإعادة الاستعمال، تذرّع الوزير بالمخطّط الشامل الذي يجري العمل عليه بين لبنان والبنك الدولي والذي يضمّ معلماً تذكاريّاً. لكنّ سلام عاد وأوضح أنّ عدداً من الخبراء ضمن هذه الدراسة اقترح أن يكون المعلم ما بقيَ من الأهراءات نفسها، عوضاً عن هدمها وبناء معلمٍ جديد. وقد كشف سلام عن دراسةٍ يعدّها الاتّحاد الأوروبي حول إمكانية بناء الأهراءات الجديدة في مرفأ طرابلس. كما أعلن أنّ كل القرارات المتعلّقة بالأهراءات ستتّخذها لجنةً تشكّلت اليوم، تضم كلّاً من وزارة العدل والدفاع والأشغال والبيئة والاقتصاد. Economy Minister Amin Salam toned down his position regarding the demolition of the port silos, in a press conference held on Friday. Salam presented all aspects of the issue, with studies mostly advising partial demolition, and drew a red line between the silos’ demolition and the port blast investigation. He confirmed that he is in contact with the families of victims and that his decision will only be finalized after a competent judicial opinion rules on whether to proceed with the demolition. In answer to the question about the purpose of demolition, given that the space itself is not reusable, the minister used the comprehensive plan that is being worked on by Lebanon and the World Bank, which requires having a memorial monument, as an excuse. However, Salam then went back and clarified that several experts within this study suggested that the remains of the silos themselves become the memorial, instead of destroying them to rebuild a new monument. Salam announced that a study is being prepared by the European Union on the possibility of building new silos in the port of Tripoli.
