Artist Maya Diab revealed on-air, for the first time, that she was a victim of physical harassment at one of her concerts. During her "Bi Saraha" episode with Nelly Karim on Monday, Diab refuted the discourse that blames the victim or her clothing. She declared that she was ultimately victorious over the harasser after she kicked him in the face. Although Diab benefitted from circumstances that helped her get her revenge on the aggressor, the recounting of her experience on the air remains an attempt to carve out a space for harassment survivors' narratives in the face of dominant sexist discourses and victim-blaming.
