The Free Patriotic Movement is waging a difficult electoral battle, having lost a large segment of its audience. After six years of the "strong mandate", the FPM has little to offer its voters other than the crisis, immigration, poverty... and the slogan "They didn't let us." Only the FPM's allies can save it now, and save what remains of Bassil's presidential dreams. However, the FPM's relations with these same allies have also tensed, which will require alliances and compromises with those it accuses of obstruction and corruption. But this no longer matters to the FPM. Bassil realizes that his only chance is to escalate, even if that wreaks havoc. The battle for Bassil's survival is hostage to this strategy of tension.
