https://video.megaphone.news/videos/watch/e9a9756c-d520-41a6-b0fe-2ad1d493d282 اتّخذت تظاهرات #سريلانكا مساراً عنفياً منذ الإثنين الفائت، بعدما اعتدى بلطجيّة النظام على المتظاهرين الذين يُطالبون منذ آذار الفائت باستقالة الحكومة ورئيس الجمهورية لفشلهم بإدارة أسوأ أزمة اقتصادية منذ عام 1948. وقد فرضت حكومة سري لانكا حظراً للتجوّل، وسمحت للأجهزة الأمنية بإطلاق النار على أي متظاهر يلحق ضرراً بأملاك الدولة أو بعناصر الشرطة، تزامناً مع إحراق المتظاهرين لـ38 من منازل السياسيّين، صباح اليوم الأربعاء. وكانت قوى الأمن قد أنقذت رئيس الوزراء، فجر أمس الثلاثاء، بعد ساعاتٍ من استقالته وبعدما حاصر متظاهرون منزله. كما أحرق المتظاهرون عشرات السيّارات الفخمة التي تعود له ولعائلته. وتستمرّ مظاهرات سري لانكا حتّى استقالة رئيس البلاد، وهو شقيق رئيس الحكومة المستقيل. وقد قُتلَ 8 أشخاص على الأقل منذ الإثنين الفائت، وأُصيبَ 200 آخرون، مع بلوغ موجة العنف ذروتها عندما أطلق نائبٌ من الحزب الحاكم النار على المتظاهرين، ثم فرّ إلى مبنى مجاور، حيث قتل نفسه بعدما حاصره المتظاهرون. Protests in #SriLanka took a violent turn last Monday, after regime thugs attacked demonstrators who have been calling for the resignation of the president and the government since March for failing to manage the country's worst economic crisis since 1948. The Sri Lankan government imposed a curfew and ordered security services to shoot any protester who harms state property or police personnel, after protestors set fire to 38 politicians' homes on Wednesday. Security forces rescued the Prime Minister, at dawn on Tuesday, hours after he resigned, and demonstrators surrounded his house. The protestors burned dozens of luxury cars belonging to him and his family. Sri Lankans vow to continue their protest until the president, who is the PM's brother, resigns as well. At least 8 people have been killed since Monday and another 200 injured. The wave of violence reached a peak when a ruling party lawmaker shot at protesters, then fled to a nearby building where he killed himself after he found himself surrounded.
