The National Union on Disability organized a sit-in in front of the Banque du Liban to demand the release of funds belonging to social institutions and associations for people with special needs, which are being withheld by banks. Social Affairs Minister Hector Hajjar, who participated in the sit-in, said that the BDL governor is still reluctant to approve the associations' demands, including raising the cap for monthly withdrawals from banks, paying domiciliated salaries, and facilitating fresh dollar withdrawals.
