The Ministry of Social Affairs had announced that it would start distributing ration cards to 300,000 families at the beginning of March. On Tuesday however, MP Assem Araji revealed that the project is still on hold, until all World Bank conditions are met. Among the conditions set by the World Bank is the finalization of the financial recovery plan, which is pending because the government has yet to approve any actual reform. The draft it submitted the World Bank protects the banking sector instead of working toward actual financial recovery.
